Welcome to my website displaying landscape images of New Zealand’s South Island. The images are displayed in galleries which may represent regions of the South Island, or themes and topics. Although being changed from time to time, more galleries may be added.
Although I have travelled extensively around the South Island during the last decade there are still many locations which are waiting to be revisited for that perfect shot which I know is there, but for various reasons have escaped being captured. Our motorhome has allowed me to visit locations for good periods of time but being there at the right time of year is often the crucial factor for good photography. Often, a good hike or lift in elevation at the right time of day will bring better results in realising the potential of an expected photograph.
A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety. Ansel Adams
