A window of opportunity opened for me to spend several days at the Hakatere Conservation Park, and while in cold and crisp winter conditions, the weather was cloudlessly fine and calm. Amazingly (for the region) the lack of wind during the time gave some great lakeside reflections. Unfortunately, the moon threatened to complicate my astrophotography but actually added another dimension to it.
