I recently spent several days on a property in the area of the Waipara River watershed in benign weather and great conditions for photography – apart from being enveloped in cloud for one day with no action.
I hope my images demonstrate what an awesome part of the country is our compact Western region of Hurunui with its plains, rivers, hills and mountains. So don’t scurry up the road from the Waipara turnoff to SH7, Hanmer Springs and beyond, but instead use Weka Pass as an introduction to the great variety of topography and natural wonders in our hinterland and take a left turn at Waikari to uncover our secret.
